A great flowering shrub at present is Choisya ternata, Mexican orange blossom. It has scented flowers and leaves adn is related to lemons and oranges ( hence the common name)

A hardy plant but it can get lemon tree borer, in which case use borer treatment down the holes. If the leaves go silver, it is thrips, so you can apply a safe insecticide.
